This long-awaited book from historian Danel Aranda is the result of a lifetime dedicated to the study of Apacheria. It represents just a small portion of the author’s knowledge he has chosen to share with us. Each chapter represents an event of importance in the Southwest we should know about. In Dan’s own words, “I sacrificed my writing days by choice. I was a caregiver for friends and family for many years, but cannot begrudge a moment spent. I wish that I could have done more.” These two sentences tell you much about the author, his dedication to others and his love of the Southwest.
